The U.S. government received 4 new requests to investigate trade regulation infractions in December, bringing the total to 65 for the year. That was similar to 2018 but well below the 95 cases in 2017. A resolution of the uncertainty regarding tariffs on Chinese imports under the phase 1 trade deal may lead to more cases being brought in 2020.
