The Port of Los Angeles outperformed Long Beach in August, according to official figures – LA handled 1.6% more volumes and Long Beach 8.9% fewer. Inbound performance, and specifically imports from China, was the explanation according to Panjiva data. Looking ahead, APM Terminals’ expansion of its LA facilities could add 4% to LA, while Long Beach navigates Hanjin Shipping’s problems.
