The U.S. ITC has upheld the Commerce Department’s decision that duties should be applied to Chinese hardwood plywood exports. However, it has decided not to make these retrospective. This is one of 20 China-related cases that are active, which have most recently been added to by the self-initiated aluminum sheet review. U.S. imports of the hardwood plywood have already fallen vs. the period prior to the case being launched, with a 6% reduction in the three months to November 30 on a year earlier and a 17% slide vs. their peak.
