Maersk’s APM Terminals may sell $167 million of assets in northern Europe as part of its asset rotation strategy. That followed a sale of its Zeebrugge facility to COSCO Shipping in 2017. Terminals accounted for 13% of Maersk’s transport revenues in the 12 months to September 30, but has struggled to grow having been unchanged on a year earlier. By contrast revenues overall grew 12% as container-rates improved. The assets in northern Europe include the troubled Gothenburg terminal, whose attraction may be limited by the port strikes that resulted in a 19% slump in volumes in 2017. It als...
