Manzanillo Tunnel Could Revitalize Rail Just In Time for NAFTA Disruptions

The Manzanillo Rail Tunnel, due to be completed next month, may help to revitalize Mexican rail traffic in terms of international trade. By providing an alternative east-west link it could displace Panama Canal activity for Mexican volumes – something the Canal can ill afford after a 3% drop in traffic in the first quarter on a year earlier.
