Sony’s launch of two new, but relatively unchanged, games consoles leaves videogame growth for the holidays in the hands of VR roll-out. Panjiva data shows U.S. imports of videogames and related products fell 15% in August – normally 71% of October peak shipments. Purchases are being delayed – PlayStation-linked imports were 44% lower in August while Xbox was up 36%. Supply chains are shifting geographically, though the value of Chinese exports by Foxconn, Mingshuo and Flextronics increased in July.
