Southeast Cargoes Fly Despite Miami Air-Import Descent

Air traffic at Miami-Dade airport increased 1% in September, with a more-than-doubling of domestic enplaned cargo being offset by an 11% drop in international imports. Miami seaport also experienced weaker traffic. Yet, stronger seaborne imports from across the region – and in particular into Savannah which climbed 14% – meant the Panjiva Combined Cargo Index for the southeast still increased 3%. October probably didn’t do as well, if only due to Hurricane Matthew.
