Southeast PCCI Grows, But Still Falls Behind

Miami International airport handled 1% more cargo in December than a year earlier, with domestic deplanings receiving an 8% boost. This was likely due to increased e-commerce activity. Regional competitor Atlanta did much better with traffic rising 15% in the month as a result of a 19% growth in international imports. Total international freight activity through the two together increased 4% to a new high. Seaborne imports into the region also did well as a result of Savannah’s 23% increase in imports.
