Tasty American Garlic Market Draws in Chinese Exports Despite Duties

The U.S. ITC has voted to continue anti-dumping duties on Chinese garlic exports for five years. The order has been in place for five years, and most are retained (only one has been revoked this year). Chinese exporters are still thriving in the U.S. however – they accounted for 38% of U.S. imports in the past year. Shipments from China to the U.S. expanded by 22% in the quarter to July 31, perhaps in anticipation of the orders being cancelled.
