The U.S. ITA will proceed with an antidumping case against large diameter steel exports from six countries including China. The case is predominantly aimed at India (37% of imports in 2017), South Korea (19%) and Canada (16%) rather than China (3%). While total imports surged in 2017 they have begun to decline already with a 36% sequential drop in the fourth quarter. Furthermore exports of the product to the U.S. only account for 4% of China’s total.
