Time To Consider Port-o-Mation as Employment Growth Improves

U.S. logistics employment of 3.3% year over year outpaced the wider economy for a 65th straight month in March. Marine- and river-based shipping saw a 2.2% growth rate, the fastest since Aug. 2016 as ports seek to correct congestion issues. The sector has continued to see productivity growth as imports have outpaced employment growth by 2.7% points annually in the past decade. Further improvements will require union-opposed port automation investments.
