Whirlpool has reportedly experienced a 10% shortfall in deliveries of semiconductors versus its orders. The appliance maker’s Asia President, Jason Lai, has stated the firm is “facing an explosion of export orders” and that the shortage of chips in China “was inevitable”. The surge in demand can be seen in U.S. imports linked to Whirlpool which climbed 85.0% year over year in January and February combined, including a 140% rise in shipments from China.
