The shipping industry is starting to get serious about reducing greenhouse gas emissions. The International Maritime Organization is set to apply a five-tier rating system for vessels from Oct. 2022 that could start to phase out the dirtiest ships. The use of liquefied natural gas as a fuel for ultra-large containerships is gathering momentum with ZIM Shipping signing a deal for 10 vessels of 15,000 TEUs capacity to be built by Samsung Heavy.
