In the busy start-up world, “culture” (and we’re not talking just ping-pong and beer, though we have that at Panjiva) is a critical element that should be nurtured upon inception. Knowing culture can be the difference between success and failure, how do you create a unique culture that fosters innovative ideas and attracts creative minds? Join Panjiva’s Jim Psota for A Tale of Three Startup Cultures, a highly anticipated panel featuring three co-founders that will explore how corporate culture is crucial to a company’s success.

In addition to Psota, this event will feature Jason Henrich, the co-founder of PerkStreet Financial and Greg Kunkel , co-founder of NextJump. These established entrepreneurs will share their insight on important elements to consider when building a corporate culture, as well as the key values that have driven their startups to be a success.

This event is taking place on Tuesday, October 22 at swissnex Boston, Consulate of Switzerland at 6pm. To find out more information about this event and to RSVP, visit the website here.

Panjiva’s Data Scientist: Peter Goodings Swartz https://panjiva.com/blog/2013/07/11/panjiva-data-scientist https://panjiva.com/blog/2013/07/11/panjiva-data-scientist#respond Thu, 11 Jul 2013 18:51:29 +0000 http://panjiva.com/blog/?p=5642 Big Data Republic has posted an interview with Panjiva’s data scientist Peter Goodings Swartz. Peter is a key part of the team that’s working to understand and organize massive amounts of trade data on the Panjiva platform. In Peter’s words: Being able to switch gears and perform a wide variety of tasks with data is critical, as we’re a startup and all employees thus have a wide range of responsibilities. One moment I’m matching trade data from China, the next I’m preparing information on our customers for our account management team or planning locations for new offices. Having both a strong understanding of data science and of international trade and business is essential.
