Maersk Making More Market Share, Skou Says

Brazil 396 Corp - Shipping 978 Mode - Containerized 1470 Mode - Seaborne 1803 U.S. 5320

Container-line Maersk should meet its financial targets, and has been growing its market share according to CEO Soren Skou. The company’s share of U.S.-inbound traffic has continued to grow, with a 0.2% point rise to reach 6.2% in the three months to May 31 on a year earlier. When including Hamburg Sud, which it is in the process of acquiring, this rises to 9.5%. Maersk has also expanded its market share in Brazil to 9.45% in the quarter to April 30. Yet, this will drop when its sale of Mercosul to CMA-CGM is completed.
