The U.S. Commerce Department has indicated it may reapply tariffs against Mexican sugar exports. That follows a delayed final decision on rates and a suspension of sugar export licenses by Mexico. The case has parallels in the snap decision made by Commerce against Canadian lumber, and might be seen as part of broader NAFTA renegotiations.
