The U.K. and Canada have signed a continuity agreement to ensure the terms of the Canada-EU CETA deal remain in place once the U.K.’s current trading arrangements with the EU end in December. A review of the U.K.-Canada deal may tailor and improve terms for the U.K., as the Brexit process intends, but will take years to complete according to Prime Minister Trudeau. Canada represented 2.0% of U.K. exports and 0.9% of imports in the 12 months to Sept. 30. The most exposed exports are non-ferrous metals and aerospace components.
