Case Delay Makes Rod for Steel Suppliers’ Backs as Imports Hit New High

The U.S. ITA has delayed a decision in its less-than-fair value review of steel wire rod exports from seven countries to October 24 from September 5. That follows a delay in a similar anti-subsidy case, and is one of 71 postponement notices issued since the start of the year. Panjiva data shows the case has not had a significant effect on imports. These increased 16% in the second quarter, and reached a new high since at least 2009 in June.
