CMA-CGM Joins the Felixstowe Exodus To Take Advantage of Indian Opportunity

Corp - Ports 880 Corp - Shipping 976 India 512 Mode - Containerized 1468 Mode - Seaborne 1801 United Kingdom 369

CMA-CGM is the latest container-line to shift services away from the British port of Felixstowe in response to IT-related congestion issues. Like Orient Overseas and Maersk this is for a limited service range and will likely be temporary, but will be diverted to London Gateway rather than Southampton or Liverpool. The shift is pressing as traffic on U.K.-to-India routes has climbed 18% in 2Q 2018 vs. a year earlier which may already have started to increase capacity utilization.
