Colonial’s Gasoline Loss is Shipping’s Gain

A leak on the Colonial 1 gasoline pipeline from Texas to New Jersey on September 9 has interrupted 1.3 million barrels per day of supplies. This has resulted in a 58% increase in shipments, and 23% increase in volumes, of gasoline shipped via sea into the east coast of the United States in the past week, Panjiva data shows.
