China’s IAAE airshow this week may include announcements of new civilian aircraft orders. Boeing has likely outsold Airbus by around two to one based on Panjiva trade data, with U.S. exports accounting for 62% of China’s imports in the past 12 months to Europe’s 36%. Deliveries have fallen 9% in the past 12 months vs. a year earlier, potentially reflecting the desire of local airlines including Air China and China Eastern to save orders for COMAC’s long-awaited, locally-produced C919.
