The U.S. Trade Representative, Robert Lighthizer, will proceed with a section 301 investigation of Chinese laws on intellectual property protection and technology transfer. That comes just four days after President Trump’s Executive Order. While the President can take action against Chinese goods exports as one form of action, due process has to be followed.
