Polish rail operator PKP has launched a new China-bound containerized freight operator. In common with services recently launched by Maersk and Kerry that’s predicated on being able to offer a faster service than by sea. That’s particularly acute for Polish exporters that generally rely on ports outside the country for global shipping – for example only 4% of U.S.-bound Polish containerized freight goes directly from a Polish port (most go via Germany).
