Foxconn and Pegatron have declined Apple’s request to look at moving iPhone production to the U.S. on cost grounds, Nikkei reports. This comes after prior threats by President-elect Trump to implement trade rules to bring manufacturers back to the U.S. Panjiva data shows the two companies exported an average $1.5 billion of phones to the U.S. per month over the past year, with shipments in September 10% lower than a year earlier.
