Companies that are exposed to U.S. tariffs on Chinese exports that were applied at a 10% rate in September and raised to 25% in May (“list three”) may soon get a respite after the process for requesting exemptions opened on Jul. 1. The likelihood of getting an exemption is low however. Just 24.6% of decisions made for list one and two tariffs (applied at 25% in July and August) have received an exemption.
