Kia and Compass Kick Mexican Auto Exports Into Overdrive

Mexican vehicle exports including autos and commercial climbed 14% on a year earlier in May, bringing the quarterly total to 21%. That’s the fastest rate since at least 2014. It may prove controversial in forthcoming NAFTA negotiations with the U.S. – 80% of Mexican auto exports go to the U.S. Ford, GM and Fiat-Chrysler are most affected by relations with the U.S., whereas Volkswagen and Renault also sell into Latin America.
