President Donald Trump’s speech to the Three Seas summit in Poland on July 6 will highlight the potential for U.S. gas supplies via LNG. This could reduce European reliance on Russian pipeline gas. In any event European utilities have 36.1 million tons per year of LNG contracts lapsing by 2026 that will need replacing. U.S. suppliers already have 7.8 mtpa of contracts taking effect from 2017 to 2020 and so have plenty of opportunities to sell more.
