MSC and Maersk Address Lone Star’s State of Service as CMA-CGM Takes Share

MSC and Maersk are enhancing their Lone Star container shipping service, which runs from China and South Korea to the U.S. east coast, with the addition of a vessel to “improve customer experience and schedule reliability”. Service enhancements are an increasing area of competitive edge for the container-lines, shown by CMA-CGM’s Eagle offering. With 66.8% of volumes on the route having originated in China in 2018 there’s a clear risk to volumes from ongoing China-U.S. trade talks.
