The Chinese government has asked the WTO for permission to apply retaliation worth $7 billion against U.S. exports due to America not following an earlier WTO ruling on anti-dumping case methodologies. The WTO hearing, due September 21, will heighten tensions between the U.S. and China just as the Trump administration considers implementing duties on $200 billion of additional Chinese exports on top of $50 billion already targeted.
