Thai Acid Shippers May Get Sour Taste from U.S. Dumping Probe

The U.S. ITC will continue anti-dumping and subsidization investigations into citric acid exports from Thailand, Colombia and Brazil. Thailand is likely to be the main target, with a 45% increase in exports to the U.S. in the 12 months to May 31. Total imports to the U.S. fell 3% in May and 5% in June, while imports from Thailand continued to increase. That suggests shippers either did not anticipate, or are unconcerned by, the investigation or its outcome.
