Michelin’s chief finance officer expects Chinese exports of truck and bus tires to the U.S. to drop in the fourth quarter, increasing their sales. Panjiva data shows imports of the products from China already fell 30% in September, yet U.S. imports from all suppliers globally increased 26%. This represents moves by Japan’s Toyo Tire and Brazilian subsidiaries of Goodyear and Bridgestone to fill the gap left by Chinese manufacturers such as Double Coin.
