World Trade Roars Back to Life

Global 1389 Trade Balance 932

Global trade roared back in November with a 3% increase on a year earlier, Panjiva analysis of CPB data shows. That follows a small downturn in October, and was the fastest rate of growth since March 2015. Notably, all regions saw an increase – the first time since September 2014 that has happened – with Latin American rising 6% and emerging Asia by 5%. Asian growth looks set to have increased again in December based on data for Thailand, India and Taiwan. Elsewhere U.S. seaborne imports jumped 9% in December, through Chinese exports contracted by 6%.
