The U.S. Treasury saw a 20.1% drop in income from customs duties in June compared to a year earlier. The $4.48 billion of tariffs paid by importers reflected a 2.7% average tariff rate. That was the highest since February when tariff rates on shipments from China were reduced. An extension of the section 301 program to cover Hong Kong could add $212 million to the total.
