The U.S. ITA has decided to retain antidumping duties on exports of glycine, an amino acid, from China that have been in place since 1995. Imports fell 51% in the three months to November 30 on a year earlier, Panjiva data shows. While imports are currently dominated by India (53%) and Japan (38%) most of the drop is explained by imports from Thailand. These averaged 177 tons per month in 2015, but only 20 tons since, and were almost wholly accounted for by the Thai division of China-domiciled Newtrend Food Ingredient.
