China’s State Council will enable “parallel imports” of autos at newly established free trade zones allowing unofficial distributors to increase their imports of vehicles. That’s come as China’s car import business contracted by 3.8% year over year in the three months to Oct. 31 vs. a 13.1% surge to $50.2 billion in the full year 2017.
