Quota Threats Have Yet to Prove a Deterrent To Uranium Shipments

A U.S. national security trade case relating to uranium products may be close to reaching a conclusion. The investigation, launched at the request of Ur-Energy and Energy Fuel Resources a year ago, could result in a quota being set that requires 25% of domestic purchasing to come from domestic mines. So far the review has not had an impact on imports – indeed they likely increased by 11.4% year over year in 4Q.
