Printer and copier maker Konica-Minolta will increase the proportion of its production in Malaysia to 60% from 20% to years ago. That will offset a reduction in its manufacturing in China in response to U.S. tariffs. Konica’s move follows a similar strategy followed by its competitors Kyocera and Ricoh. The firm has already started implementing on the strategy as China accounted for 53.3% of Konica’s U.S. seaborne imports in the 12 months to May 30 from 76.0% in 2015.
