China’s international trade activity recovered in June with a 2.7% rise in imports and a 0.5% increase in exports compared to a year earlier. While that was better than economists had expected it is worth noting there were two additional working days in June compared to a year earlier. The stabilization in exports compares to a 3.3% dip in May and was the result of a return to growth in furniture which improved by 8.4% in June while the electronics sector continued to expand, for example with computers growing by 16.1%.
