U.S. imports likely collapsed in October, with an 8.9% year over year drop in seaborne shipments being the worst performance – aside from lunar new year volatility – since Nov. 2009. That was largely down to the U.S.-China trade war, with list 4A tariffs having been applied since September. Imports from China fell for a sixth straight month with an 18.9% slump.
