Several districts in Shenzhen have instituted COVID-19 lockdowns, Supply Chain Dive reports, in an effort to stamp out the spread of the virus in that region. The restrictions, which cover around 17 million people, come at a bad time for logistics networks that were hoping to recover from the congestion of 2021. Shocks like this, which may affect companies shipping out of the regions ports, cause knock on effects as firms attempt to move goods in mass after lockdowns end, or try and divert shipments to open areas.
