Senate Agrees To Restrict Trump’s National Security Strategy, No Vehicle Yet

The U.S. Senate passed a non-binding resolution to require Congressional approval from President Trump before duties can be applied under section 232 “national security” reviews. The 88-11 vote shows the unpopularity of the steel and aluminum reviews already completed and the ongoing automotive review. As yet though no vehicle for implementing the resolution has been formulated. In the meantime the automotive industry appears increasingly concerned about the outcome.
