We’re approaching the smartphone peak delivery season with the iPhone 7, Android 7 and the troubled Galaxy Note7. U.S. imports in the seventh month of the year were unchanged vs. a year earlier, Panjiva data shows, with imports stuck at an annual run rate of 20.2 million. China has been losing share to Vietnam and South Korea, but this trend turned with a 5% rise in shipments in July. Chinese manufacturers’ exports to Europe increased 9%, with Pegatron’s global shipments jumping nearly 50% – ahead of Foxconn’s 1%. Sony is still struggling.
