General Motors and the UAW reached a deal to end a strike that started on Sep 16. GM’s CFO, Dhivya Suryadevara, has stated the gross cost in 3Q could have been $1.3 billion. The strike has sent ripples through the General Motors supply chain, but GM’s troubles may have been brewing since the start of the year. U.S. imports by sea and from Mexico fell 48.6% year over year in 3Q, with sourcing from India and South Korea down by 64.2% and 64.7% respectively.
