World Trade Grows Before China Slows, Brazil Brakes

Brazil 402 China 2999 Global 1389 Trade Balance 933

Global trade grew 1% in September on a year earlier, slower than August’s 1.6% but still the highest volume recorded by CPB World Monitor for the month. The outlook may not be as good. Export growth of 3.8% in Latin America may reverse after Brazil reported a 15% drop in exports in October. Similarly emerging Asia’s 2% drop in exports may extend after China reported a 7% slide in October.
