The Wall Street Journal reports that President-elect Trump will appoint Robert Lighthizer as USTR. This would round out a trade policy group including fellow tariff hawks Peter Navarro and Jason Greenblatt, with Commerce Secretary appointee Ross preferring a more export-led approach. Mr. Lighthizer’s trade experience and legal background suggests he may take more of a technical than policy-setting role though.
