Brooks Brothers has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection due to declining clothing sales according to press reports, making it the latest retailer to do so in the wake of a COVID-19 led drop in demand. U.S. seaborne imports of apparel and textiles fell by 29.9% year over year in June after a 46.1% slide in May, making it one of the worst performing consumer discretionary sectors.
