Apple’s airpods are likely to be a popular choice for the holiday gift season. Total U.S. headphone imports were 901,000 units in October 2015 – the peak month since at least 2009, equivalent to a 30% annualized growth over five years. Growth continued with a 4% rise in July and 6% in August on the same months a year earlier. As with much else in consumer electronics, China is dominant and has largely crushed South Korea.
