China is the Key to G20 Environmental Trade Deal

Trade is having a tough time ahead of the G20 summit on September 4, with deals struggling to pass and disputes as diverse as steel and canola. A ray of light may come in the form of the Environmental Goods Agreement. This tariff cutting plan should help solar- and wind-power equipment. Panjiva data shows U.S. imports reached their highest since at least 2008 in July, and Brazil’s in at least two years. China may want to deal – exports of solar power equipment fell 4% in June.
