CMA-CGM Draws on Cost Cutting as Well as Ceva For Future Growth

CMA-CGM reported 4Q revenues that rose by 14.9% year over year as the container line’s average shipping rates improved by 6.3%. The latter was better than Hapag-Lloyd’s 3.9% rise but below the industry average 9.3%. CMA-CGM’s volumes handled also expanded, including a 9.9% increase in U.S.-inbound shipments year over year for the quarter, as a result of service innovations such as expedited deliveries.
