Chinese mobile phone exports increased 6% on a year earlier in January, the fastest rate since October 2015. Shipments to the U.S. increased 28% but were outstripped by a 34% expansion in EU-bound exports. That may represent a restocking after western holiday selling season. Apple-supplier Foxconn’s shipments jumped 47%, though over a trailing three month basis they increased just 3%.
